WILTON, CT - Four Seasons Racquet Club has announced it will host a Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, June 26, 2010. The Four Seasons Racquet Club, conveniently located on Route 7 in Wilton, Conn., invites members of the community to attend the workshops presented by area professionals and to participate in strength and fitness demonstrations.
“We are very excited to host a health and wellness fair at Four Seasons,” said Stanley Matthews, owner of Four Seasons Racquet Club. “We look forward to members of the community attending the event and learning about healthy living through our workshops and demonstrations and by participating in our presentations.”
Health and wellness fairs offer many insights into personal well-being and healthy living like:
- Healthy snacking is a well-balanced diet of fruits and vegetables and is an important step to a healthy lifestyle; they contain vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which help to reduce the risk of obesity and high blood pressure.
- Benefits of Physical Activity: 30 minutes of physical activity three times a week can help set you on the path to improved health. Benefits include better self-esteem, reduced stress, increased relaxation, and slowing the aging process.
- How to reduce stress; see how stress affects your life, tips for dealing with stressful activities, and easy ways to alleviate stress in your daily routine.
The Four Seasons Racquet Club’s Health & Wellness event will get under way at 2:00pm with a cardio tennis session and demonstration for players of all abilities. After the 30-minute class, three of the health industry’s top professionals will give brief presentations.
The presenters are:
Dr. Jairo Rodriguez, a physician who has spent the last 30 years in nutritional medicine. In addition he has obtained his PhD in nutritional biochemistry at Columbia University and is a New York State registered and licensed Nutritionist. He works extensively with Cornell Medical College, St. Luke’s Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital. At present he is a private practitioner in New York City. Dr. Rodriguez has done extensive work on the treatment of obesity and eating disorders and lectures frequently on the topics of diet support and cancer treatment, cholesterol and coronary disease, nutrition and athletic performance.
Dr. Keith Overland is a Sports Medicine & Chiropractic Physician based in Norwalk, Conn. He is a certified chiropractic sports physician and sports medicine trainer, who has worked with the New York Mets and several U. S. Olympic teams. Overland is a highly regarded speaker and one of the most respected doctors in his profession. Dr Overland will present a brief program on “Common Tennis Injuries: Their cause, treatment and prevention.” He will cover how to prevent and /or care for common tennis injuries such as tennis elbow, shoulder discomfort and lower back pain. Often these injuries are 100 percent preventable with simple exercise routines. This hands-on presentation will illustrate easy to use routines that may keep the body from injury.
Dr. Marvin Schweitzer, specializing in naturopathic medicine, brings an eclectic blend of advanced diagnostic materials, homeopathy, acupuncture, other energy medicines, nutritional and botanical medicines and European Biological Medicines to the table for his diverse range of patients. He has been practicing in Fairfield County for over 17 years. Dr. Marvin Schweitzer, specializing in naturopathic medicine, brings an eclectic blend of advanced diagnostics, homeopathy, acupuncture, other Energy Medicines, nutritional and botanical medicines and European Biological Medicine to the table for his diverse range of patients. He has been practicing in Fairfield County for 25 years. Dr. Schweitzer will present a brief introduction to energy medicine and will showcase the amazing Asyra electrodermal screening device. His wife Niki Ralis will be demonstrating Ondamed, a pulsed electromagnetic frequent device, which can unblock healing in difficult cases. This equipment has been enthusiastically endorsed by medical and scientific luminaries and has significantly improved Dr. Schweitzer’s patient outcomes.
After the presentations, the each doctor will be available to answer questions.
